Alicia Lansford, Chief Mission Officer East Tyler Lighthouse for the Blind The mission of East Texas Lighthouse is to empower the blind. With their mix of employment opportunities and training opportunities for some, they are a catalyst, and for others, they are a destination. With its beginnings in 1976 as an employment opportunity, East Texas Lighthouse for the Blind is still proudly serving today as a federal contractor manufacturing critical products for our government and military. In 2010, ETLB opened its community-facing Client Services division where a wide selection of free services and training are available to the low-vision and blind community. While technology was always present in training offered, in 2018 the reach of ETLB expanded to a national level through their Microsoft Office and Assistive Technology Instructor programs. |
